In recognition of Black Awareness Day (November 20), EABH is engaging in meaningful activities throughout the week to honor Brazil’s rich Afro-Brazilian heritage and reinforce our commitment to respect, empathy, and inclusion.
Across all divisions, students explored the cultural, social, and historical significance of the date.
📚 In US, students researched and wrote thoughtful articles for The Daily Hawk (coming soon at www.thedailyhawk.com).
🎨 In LS, students created posters and participated in a community march celebrating diversity and unity.
📖 In the library, book displays and talks featuring Black authors and stories encouraged students to explore powerful voices from Brazil and around the world.
👊🏿In Grades 3–5, SEL, Library, and BSS classes joined forces to teach about Zumbi dos Palmares and the origins of this important Brazilian celebration.
We invite everyone to reflect with us, honor the stories that shape Brazil’s identity, and celebrate our shared commitment to understanding and inclusion.

Em homenagem ao Dia da Consciência Negra (20 de novembro), a EABH está participando de atividades significativas ao longo da semana, para celebrar a rica herança afro-brasileira e reforçar nosso compromisso com o respeito, a empatia e a inclusão.
Em todos os segmentos, os alunos exploraram a importância cultural, social e histórica da data.
📚 No Upper School, os estudantes pesquisaram e escreveram artigos para o The Daily Hawk (em breve no www.thedailyhawk.com).
🎨 No Lower School, os alunos criaram cartazes e fizeram uma passeata em celebração à diversidade e à união.
📖 Na biblioteca, exposições e conversas sobre autores e obras, protagonizadas por personagens negros, estimularam reflexões sobre vozes importantes do Brasil e do mundo.
👊🏿Nos Grades 3–5, unimos as aulas de Habilidades Socioemocionais, Biblioteca e Estudos Sociais Brasileiros para ensinar sobre Zumbi dos Palmares e as origens desta celebração brasileira.
Convidamos todos a refletirem conosco, valorizando as histórias que moldam a identidade do Brasil e celebrando nosso compromisso com a compreensão e a inclusão.

Our delegates proudly represented EABH at RioMUN 2025 in 📍Rio de Janeiro.
This year’s theme — “Entertaining a Thought Without Agreeing: A Call for Discursive Integrity and Constructive Dissent” — inspired meaningful debates and rich exchanges with students from international schools.

✨ Last week we welcomed our PreK grandparents and special guests to EABH!
💙 The children prepared a beautiful surprise: they sang “Alecrim Dourado” and, afterwards, everyone created an art piece inspired by the song. It was a moment of collaboration and creativity.
Experiences like these help us strengthen bonds and we believe that in education, we can learn and grow together.
It was a truly special morning with hugs, smiles, music, painting, and love. 💫

✨ Na semana passada, recebemos os avós e convidados especiais do nosso PreK, na EABH!
💙 As crianças prepararam uma surpresa linda: cantaram “Alecrim Dourado” e, depois, todos criaram uma obra de arte inspirada na música. Foi um momento de colaboração e criatividade.
Vivências como essa nos ajudam a fortalecer vínculos, e acreditamos que, na educação, aprendemos e crescemos juntos.
Foi uma manhã muito especial, com abraços, sorrisos, música, pintura e amor. 💫

🎉The inaugural AASB National Tournament brought together all 16 American schools across Brazil in a new format, featuring over 500 student-athletes competing in soccer, basketball, and cheer. It was a celebration of athleticism, school spirit, and sportsmanship.
EABH athletes made their mark with impressive performances across multiple divisions:
⚽ Girls’ Soccer: Champions of the 3rd Division
⚽ Boys’ Soccer: Runners-up in the 3rd Division
🏀 Girls’ Basketball: 3rd place in the 2nd Division
🏀 Boys’ Basketball: Closed the tournament with a win to secure 3rd place in the 4th Division
🤸🏽♂️ Varsity Cheer: Competed for the first time ever, bringing energy and pride to the sidelines
The tournament was a resounding success, showcasing the dedication and competitive spirit of every team. EABH athletes represented their school with heart, resilience, and unity. The students set the tone for many more national tournaments to come.

🎉 O primeiro torneio nacional AASB reuniu todas as 16 escolas americanas do Brasil em um novo formato, com mais de 500 atletas-estudantes competindo em futebol, basquete e cheerleading. Foi uma celebração de atletismo, espírito escolar e espírito esportivo.
Os atletas da EABH se destacaram com atuações impressionantes em várias modalidades:

⚽ Futebol Masculino: Vice-campeões da Chave 3
🏀 Basquete Feminino: 3º lugar na Chave 2
🏀 Basquete Masculino: Encerraram o torneio com uma vitória, garantindo o 3º lugar na Chave 4
🤸🏽♂️Cheer Varsity: Competiram pela primeira vez, levando energia e orgulho às arquibancadas
O torneio foi um sucesso absoluto, destacando a dedicação e o espírito competitivo de todas as equipes.
Os Hawks representaram a escola com garra, resiliência e união, abrindo caminho para muitos outros torneios nacionais que ainda virão.
