Welcome to EABH! We are the American School of Belo Horizonte, Escola Americana de Belo Horizonte, but simply refer to ourselves as EABH.
Every August we open new doors at EABH, generating experiences that are as gratifying as the talents our community members bring to us. Our goal is to provide a well-supported learning environment for our students who represent more than twenty countries from around the world. The variety of cultures, languages and experiences these world citizens bring to the school enrich classroom inquiries and foster attitudes of respect and appreciation for individuals, cultures and our environment of interdependent communities.
EABH is proud of its roots. From its humble beginnings in 1956 as a Christian missionary school, it is now the first and only International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Minas Gerais. Students at EABH receive a high quality education taught primarily in the English language, with an emphasis on building global citizens. We are fortunate to have a supportive and involved parent community and a highly qualified and dedicated faculty. The results of these factors are reflected in the success of EABH graduates who are consistently offered admission to competitive universities in the United States, Europe, and Brazil. Some have earned full scholarships to study in the United States!
